The Hillman Minx soft top is often considered one of the most popular British cars. These mid-size family cars were produced from 1932 to 1970, and were also sold under the Humber, Singer, and Sunbeam names.
The 1950s and 1960s were the Hillman Minx's heyday, with the replacement Hillman Minx convertible top considered a forward-thinking design, both practical and inventive. The simple, uncluttered design of the Hillman Minx convertible top models was considered too plain by many Americans, but they sold briskly in the UK.
