Named after a small form of very maneuverable warship, the Chevy Corvette was first introduced to the world as a concept car in 1953. The first Chevy Corvette soft top debuted in the first generation of Corvette, which was nearly the model's last. Public excitement failed to live up to expectations, and the replacement Chevy Corvette convertible top was almost canceled.
Luckily Chevrolet stuck with the brand, creating one of the world's most popular sports cars. The Chevy Corvette convertible top has been a consistently strong seller, from the iconic Stingray to the current (sixth) generation Corvette. A replacement Chevy Corvette soft top is an excellent investment in both older and newer models, as the Corvette is known to hold its value better than many other cars.
