Mercury Capri Convertible Tops & Accessories

The Mercury Capri has become a popular car for collectors and restorers, thanks partly to its distinctive styling and partly to its affordability. The Mercury Capri convertible top was an option throughout the vehicle's run, although in the early years it was only an option as an aftermarket conversion from the American Sunroof Corporation (ASC) and McLaren.

The Mercury Capri cabrio was finally available as an option in the 1989-1994 third generation. A replacement Mercury Capri soft top was offered in two versions: base and XR2, for a sportier vehicle. The Mercury Capri soft top was also remarkably popular in Australia, due mainly to a combination of Ford's marketing in that country, as well as the obvious match between Australia's sunny weather and the Mercury Capri's affordable convertible option.
