Famously formed from a Swedish aerospace design company, Saab launched their bestselling Saab 900 convertible top in the 1980s. This quirky car manufacturer finally declared bankruptcy in 2012, bringing decades of unusual Saab soft top models to an end.

The Saab convertible top was initially introduced in order to help bolster faltering sales, and it proved a success. Both the Saab 900 convertible and its later cousin the Saab 9-3 convertible top proved to be popular models with brisk sales figures throughout the models' run.
