Vinyl tops are on the outside of the metal roof and give the vehicle a convertible-like design element without the mechanics of one. Some VW vehicles were offered with Elk Grain Vinyl tops that covered the entire roof, in a full landau design. These tops had seams that ran along the roof and were stitched, then heat-sealed and folded over, so the stitching was hidden. These new vinyl tops are designed with all the details and fit of the original tops so you can replace your vinyl and get your Volkswagen back to looking its best.
