A popular and prolific British compact car, the Morris Minor convertible top was designed to be an affordable, convenient choice for the British working class. The replacement Morris Minor 1000 convertible top model was introduced in 1956 with a beefed up engine and a more up-market appeal.
The Morris Minor 1000 soft top was the last of the Minor series. Sales declined steadily during its tenure, partly as a result of more successful imports. But despite being discontinued in 1971, the replacement Morris Minor soft top and other body styles loom high in British automotive history.
