(1) What vehicle years and models is this convertible top designed to fit?

This top is a direct replacement for Volkswagen Karmann Ghia convertibles built between 1956 and 1966 (Type 14). These early Ghia convertibles came from the factory with built‑in square-shaped plastic rear windows.
(2) What type of rear window does this top include?

It features a sewn-in plastic rear window, and because it’s built for the 1956–1966 models, the window is the original factory-style square shape, not the later half‑moon configuration.
(3) What materials and construction quality are used in this top?

These tops are made with premium fabrics like Haartz Pinpoint Vinyl or Stayfast Cloth, using laser‑cut CNC production, RF heat‑sealed seams, and tight tolerances to reproduce factory alignment and weather resistance.
(4) Can I install this Convertible Top myself?

Technically, yes, most people can manage to install a Convertible Top on their own, provided they have experience working on automotive upholstery projects.  However, TopsOnline.com recommends using a professional installer.  Why?  Because (a) a professional is going to provide you with the very best convertible top installation that you could ask for; (b) in the rare case where an installer might make a mistake, they’ll take care of it – but if YOU make a mistake with your own installation, that’s coming out of your pocket; and (c) finally, manufacturers reserve the right to void a warranty due to a faulty installation when that installation is done by someone who is not a professional installer.  So bottom line: don’t take the risk: hire a professional installer for your convertible top installation – it’s worth it and you won’t regret it!
(5) Does the convertible top package include additional installation parts (cables, headliner, padding)?

The top itself is the outer skin with plastic window only, and does not include headliner, padding, cables, bows, or hardware. These must be ordered separately—or you can purchase a convertible-top package which includes top with window, top padding & side cables.
