(1) Which models and years does this convertible top fit?
Designed for 1971 through 1980 MGB Roadster models—covering Mk II to Mk IV variants—with folding‑frame roof style (top folds behind the seats). Does not fit fixed‑roof GTs or non‑folding pop‑down styles.
(2) How many and what type of windows are included?
Includes three DOT‑rated heavy 40‑gauge plastic (vinyl) windows, heat‑sealed into the top—no sewing required. Center window may be either sealed (non‑zippered) or zippered depending on configuration.
(3) What materials are offered for the top?
TopsOnline offers this top made in British Everflex Vinyl, Haartz Leather‑Textured (British Bison) Vinyl, or Haartz Stayfast Cloth (canvas). All materials are UV-treated, mildew- and mold-resistant, with durable heat-sealed seams for longevity.
(4) Can I install this Convertible Top myself?
Technically, yes, most people can manage to install a Convertible Top on their own, provided they have experience working on automotive upholstery projects. However, TopsOnline.com recommends using a professional installer. Why? Because (a) a professional is going to provide you with the very best convertible top installation that you could ask for; (b) in the rare case where an installer might make a mistake, they’ll take care of it – but if YOU make a mistake with your own installation, that’s coming out of your pocket; and (c) finally, manufacturers reserve the right to void a warranty due to a faulty installation when that installation is done by someone who is not a professional installer. So bottom line: don’t take the risk: hire a professional installer for your convertible top installation – it’s worth it and you won’t regret it!
(5) What warranty is provided?
Two reputable brands are offered:
EZ‑ON brand: includes a 3‑year (36‑month) warranty covering the top and window bond, plus an 18‑month labor allowance when installed professionally.
Robbins brand: includes a 5‑year (60‑month) warranty for the top and window bond, along with an 18‑month labor allowance.
