(1) Is this convertible top compatible with the 1977–1979 Clenet Roadster Series 1?
Yes — this is an exact-fit replacement top designed specifically for the Clenet Roadster Series 1 (model years 1977, 1978, and 1979). It's manufactured to the factory original pattern (pattern tested for perfect fit).
(2) What materials and window style are available?
Material: The top is built on Robbins machinery with hand-rolled binding, available in vinyl (Haartz Leather-Textured Vinyl) and canvas (Haartz Stayfast Cloth), matching factory specs.
Window: Comes standard with an integrated plastic rear window, mirroring the original design.
(3) What color and fabric options can I choose?
You can choose among:
Vinyl – typically black or white crush grain, but also available in tan and bisque.
Cloth – choice of Haartz Stayfast in black or tan.
(4) Can I install this Convertible Top myself?
Technically, yes, most people can manage to install a Convertible Top on their own, provided they have experience working on automotive upholstery projects. However, TopsOnline.com recommends using a professional installer. Why? Because (a) a professional is going to provide you with the very best convertible top installation that you could ask for; (b) in the rare case where an installer might make a mistake, they’ll take care of it – but if YOU make a mistake with your own installation, that’s coming out of your pocket; and (c) finally, manufacturers reserve the right to void a warranty due to a faulty installation when that installation is done by someone who is not a professional installer. So bottom line: don’t take the risk: hire a professional installer for your convertible top installation – it’s worth it and you won’t regret it!
(5) What brand and warranty coverage comes with it?
Made by Robbins, this top includes a 5-year (60-month) warranty on materials and bonding, plus an 18-month labor allowance, all backed by TopsOnline’s “Worry‑Free Warranty”.
