(1) What vehicles does this convertible-top rear plastic window section fit?
It’s designed specifically for the BMW Baur TC/TC2 3‑Series models (E21 & E30) from 1977 to 1991 — covering 318i, 320i, 323i—and fits both RHD and LHD vehicles.
(2) Is the rear plastic window section pre-sewn or does it require sewing during installation?
The rear plastic window section comes already sewn into its fabric panel. You won’t need to sew the window itself—however, professional installation is still recommended to ensure proper tension, fit, and sealing when attaching it to the rest of the convertible top.
(3) What material is the top made from?
The factory-original is German Sonnenland Classic Cloth. Also offered is Haartz Twillfast Cloth, which mimics the original’s durability and look more affordably.
(4) What kind of plastic window is used?
These tops use a large green-tinted plastic rear window that is sewn in (unzippered/unzipped style). The same style was originally used on manual-top E30s and later in Baur TC2/E21 conversions.
(5) Do I need additional hardware to install the rear section?
Typically, you'll reuse your existing front seal, retaining bar, tension straps, and hold‑down cables. However, it’s wise to inspect them — and consider replacing worn parts (straps/cables) — to ensure a tight, secure fit.
