1. Which model years and variants does this top fit?
This factory-style, one-piece convertible top with a zipper plastic rear window is designed specifically for the 1963–1968 Austin-Healey 3000 BJ8 Roadster (Mark III) four-seater. It accommodates both left- and right-hand drive sliding-rail frames.
(2) What material and craftsmanship features are included?
You can choose from top-tier materials:
Leather-Textured Vinyl
Everflex British Vinyl
Haartz Stayfast Cloth
All are heat-sealed and treated for UV, mildew, and mold resistance.
(3) Does it include a rear window, and what type is it?
Yes—it includes a single zipper-style, DOT-rated 40-gauge plastic rear window, professionally bonded into the one-piece top assembly. This design preserves the original factory look with modern reliability.
(4) Can I install this Convertible Top myself?
Technically, yes, most people can manage to install a Convertible Top on their own, provided they have experience working on automotive upholstery projects. However, TopsOnline.com recommends using a professional installer. Why? Because (a) a professional is going to provide you with the very best convertible top installation that you could ask for; (b) in the rare case where an installer might make a mistake, they’ll take care of it – but if YOU make a mistake with your own installation, that’s coming out of your pocket; and (c) finally, manufacturers reserve the right to void a warranty due to a faulty installation when that installation is done by someone who is not a professional installer. So bottom line: don’t take the risk: hire a professional installer for your convertible top installation – it’s worth it and you won’t regret it!
(5) Who manufactures this top, and what warranty is provided?
Made by Robbins Auto Tops, this kit includes a 5‑year (60-month) warranty on both the top material and the bond to the plastic window, plus an 18-month labor allowance.
