Honda is one of the world’s most successful and well-respected car manufacturers. The list of superlatives to describe the company is seemingly endless. Among other things, Honda is the world’s largest motorcycle manufacturer, the fourth largest auto manufacturer in the United States, the second-largest auto manufacturer in Japan, and the world’s largest producer of internal combustion engines of all types. The Honda S2000 top was yet another in a long line of successes for this corporation.

In April of 1999, the company debuted its first roadster, the S2000 soft top, to celebrate the company’s 50th anniversary. This high performance two-seater was originally shown as a concept car at auto shows, and hit the market in 2000. The first body style, AP1, was produced from 2000-2003. In 2004 the AP2 S2000 top body style was released, which featured several updates to the AP1 platform.

As you might expect from a Honda, the Honda S2000 soft top reviews rated it high in customer satisfaction, including reliability, design, and balanced handling. It made Car And Driver’s “Ten Best” list for four years, and was rated “Best Affordable Sports Car” by U.S. News & World Reports in both 2008 and 2009. The S2000 convertible top gave this sports car even more entertainment value.
