The Chevy Cavalier has proven to be a robust "bread and butter" vehicle for Chevrolet. The Chevy Cavalier convertible top is one of the most affordable convertibles on the market, and was notably popular for this reason. Built on the J Platform, the replacement Chevy Cavalier soft top was introduced as a 2-door model in 1981, the make's first year of production.
Many different body styles were available for the Chevy Cavalier, although the replacement Chevy Cavalier convertible top was certainly the most sporty, particularly in special editions such as the Z24 Chevy Cavalier soft top, or paired with high-performance options like the V6 engine which was available in the first two generations.
